After earning a BA in English from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, I taught middle school, high school and community college English before finding my niche as a freelance journalist. I am the author of The Butterfly Sister, a novel published by Harper Collins/William Morrow, as well as two non-fiction biographies about singer/songwriter Taylor Swift, published by Triumph Books.
Using my background in teaching, I have presented lectures and facilitated workshops at Chicago area libraries, Senior & Community Centers, Writers' Groups and Women's Groups on a variety of topics, most recently Duncan Hines: More Than Cake Mix and Sweet Treats of the Midwest.
During the pandemic, I was blessed to homeschool my children for two years, teaching 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. From that experience, I rediscovered my passion for education and history. I also, like many people, rediscovered my love of food and homemade cooking while staying at home during Covid. I look forward to exploring these interests through future writing projects and speaking engagements.
